Getting Down & Dirty
Well, I had not participated in a race in quite some time; however, my BFF and I decided to sacrifice our non-bruised limbs for the 2014 Merrell Down & Dirty Mud Run.
We took off around 9:45 a.m. and climbed over wooden hurdles, rope walls, and inflatable slides. We ran through tunnels, up horse trails, down granite terrain, and through a muddy creek. And we conquered the final obstacle of crawling through a mud pit – joy of joys. This was my third mud run and believe me when I say that the mud somehow finds its way into places you never imagined.
But we definitely had a great time! And believe it or not, Mrs. Flossie didn’t even recognize her daughter in the photo below.
May you find the joy of bonding in any way possible, but I’m glad my BFF doesn’t mind a little mud.

Coast2Coast and Glass Slipper Challenge
The time: February 2014. The place: Orlando, FL. The challenge: Glass Slipper – run a 10K and half-marathon back-to-back. DONE!
To add some excitement to obtaining my Disney Coast2Coast medal, thought I’d throw in a 10K as well. You know, didn’t want things to be too easy. First up on that fateful Saturday morning, the inagural Enchanted 10K. Wore my Believe shirt from Raw Threads, my purple Sparkle skirt and finished in a decent time for my record.
Next and the final race on my current Disney list was my 2nd Princess Half-Marathon. Clad in my Minnie Mouse inspired outfit (Raw Thread’s red bow shirt, polka-dotted Sparkle skirt, and my runDisney Minnie Mouse shoes.
And I FINISHED! Collected my 4 medals at the end of Sunday’s race: Enchanted 10K, Princess Half-Marathon, Glass Slipper Challenge AND my Coast2Coast (pink edition). Ah, now what next?

P.S. Can you tell that my favorite parts of these races are the outfits? 🙂 Oh, and can’t forget my Sweaty Bands! Love those things!

My first trip to Disneyland was a SUCCESS! Started off 2014 with the Tinkerbell Half-Marathon in Anaheim, CA. And you know I had to go to the parks while I was there.
Princess Fancy

As a new runner, I still get butterflies in my stomach before a race. (Yes, even after 2 years, I still consider myself a new runner.) I recently ran the Disney Princess Half-Marathon and it was my first solo 1/2. My time was horrible. My body was so sore afterwards due to lack of training. My mind was full of doubts.
But I did it. 🙂
